Emily H. Hammel, Esquire

Emily H. Hammel is an attorney at Brenlove & Fuller, LLC, having joined the firm in May of 2022. Prior to joining Brenlove & Fuller, LLC, Mrs. Hammel worked at a small school and municipal law firm where she represented local school districts in special education due process hearings and advised on several student services matters including truancy and student discipline. Mrs. Hammel provided day-to-day compliance advising by assisting clients with the drafting of various special education and student services documents in accordance with relevant state and federal laws.

Mrs. Hammel spent a number of years working for the Allegheny County Office of Conflict Counsel where she represented hundreds of abused and neglected children as guardian ad litem. In addition to advocating for clients in court hearings, Mrs. Hammel frequently drafted pleadings, motions and briefs and attended various Children, Youth and Family meetings, school meetings and maintained ongoing contact with mental health and relevant service providers related to a juvenile client’s case.

Mrs. Hammel received her Bachelor of Arts degree with Honors in Psychology from Gettysburg College in 2010, where she graduated magna cum laude. In 2013, Mrs. Hammel graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law where she was a member of the Journal of Technology Law & Policy and a recipient of the Law School’s Community Service Award. While in law school, she served as a Conflict Resolution Fellow and was a Legal Writing Teacher’s Assistant. Mrs. Hammel is admitted to practice in the Courts of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Allegheny County Bar Association.
