Estate and Trust Administration

Our attorneys represent the personal representative (whether the Executor or the Administrator) of a decedent’s estate or the trustee of a trust with the administration of the estate or trust as appropriate.  In particular, we advise and assist with all legal and tax matters involved in the administration of the estate or trust, including compliance with notice requirements, Pennsylvania Orphans’ Court filings, the Pennsylvania Inheritance Tax Return and the Federal Estate Tax Return, if necessary.  Where necessary and appropriate we recommend and work with other professionals with experience in related areas, such as valuation and income tax matters.  Each estate is as unique as the individual decedent and each trust is as unique as the individual who established it.  Our attorneys also represent personal representatives, trustees and, at times, beneficiaries with such matters as Will contests, disputed claims of creditors, the defense or initiation of a claim for the spousal elective share, the forfeiture of spousal rights, disputes among beneficiaries, disputes with the personal representative and disputes as to the appointment of the personal representative.
